First, I painted the background. I had a hard time trying to get the clouds to look more natural (which you cannot tell they are clouds here, sigh!), I actually used a paper towel!
Next, after the background sky dried (about 5 days), I took my time (which is a huge accomplishment for me!) to paint the trunk and branches. I took my time to make sure it looked real as much as I could.
After a couple of days (the trunk dried much faster than the background), I used a bunch of different brushes to paint the leaves. I wasn't as pleased as I should have been with the leaves, but that's ok.
I am, overall (after my slight disappointment over the leaves) was pleased with my painting! I am especially proud of it since I have a horrible time, historically, with painting nature. I do much better with animals. ;)

You are just so talented!! <3
ReplyDeleteThis looks just like a painting I have seen by an artist named Ivan Alifan, I wonder who painted it first?http://www.gallerydirectart.com/aa-191.html?viewfullsite=1#.WquoSHMpA0M
